Hello, my name is Melissa Howard. I am a graduate student at Governors State University completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am honored to serve as a counselor in training here at Beyond Healing. I received my undergraduate degree in music therapy from Western Illinois University and completed my music therapy internship at University of Illinois Chicago Medical Center. I have had the privilege of serving as a music therapist in areas of rehabilitation/recovery, hospice, bereavement, mental health, Inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, and senior wellness since 2007. I am passionate about helping women in the perinatal period of life as well as those who have experienced perinatal loss. I work with individuals of all ages out of Homer Glen and Beverly locations. My hope is to create a supportive and safe space for you to work and to heal.
