Lesa Bradford
Hi, I’m Lesa Bradford. I’m here to hold a safe space for you as we work collaboratively through this very difficult human experience. I will work with you holistically, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Using my knowledge as a graduate level counselor, as well as a certified trauma informed yoga teacher, I will work to address how your experiences feed your state of mind as well as how you feel in your body. I work with people that are interested in learning how to move through difficulty, grow, and discover your purpose in this life, whatever circumstances you currently find yourself in.
I am in the final internship stage of my graduate studies to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Governor’s State. I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in Socio-cultural Anthropology from Iowa State University. Previously, I had a career working in non-profits for cancer support and in Human Resources. I have also taught yoga to cancer patients, people with trauma and chronic pain, and senior citizens. I use the experiences I have gained interacting and assisting people in critical times in their life to approach my clients from a compassionate, existential lens in my counseling work. I have also found a good sense of humor to be crucial!
In my free time I love to spend time in nature exploring and foraging. At home I watch British Murder Mysteries with my husband, and snuggle my 3 cats. If the weather permits, we love to ride our motorcycle and in other seasons you can find me reading or crafting. Most of all I love laughing and the magic of every day moments.
I take clients in person or virtually and have found both methodologies to be equally effective. I also facilitate in person and virtual groups for those with chronic pain or illness. Please do not hesitate to reach out to see if we are a good fit to work together in learning about your inner resources, tools to address somatic concerns, and much more. Finding the right counselor for you is just the first step in a difficult but amazing journey. I hope to be a part of yours.
