Hello my name is Dawn Hanzie I am an LPC who comes to us with a variety of experiences. I obtained her master’s degree at Lewis University in School Counseling along with becoming certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to receiving my Master’s degree in Counseling I received my Bachelor’s in Education as a Learning and Behavior Specialist along with a degree in Elementary Education. I have a vast amount of experience working as a Special Education Teacher/Case Manager (birth through high school) for nine years. Along with experience as a School Counselor (Pre-K-High School). Therefore I have a background in providing direct services to students, behavior plans, social-emotional evaluations along with group and individual therapy. I also has training in cultural diversity and women’s issues. My therapy is most guided by Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and play therapy. I believe we are always working on bettering ourselves and understands how important it is to have the right tools to guide us in difficult situations.You are never alone. When I am not working I am reading on her Kindle, spending time with family or attempting to cook. I am available at the Frankfort or Homer Glen office along with telehealth.
