Counselor in Training
Struggles in life do happen, but suffering is truly optional. I have a passion for helping others. I’m in the final stretch of receiving my education through Northcentral University’s MAMFT program. My undergraduate degree in early childhood development began my career teaching and directing daycare. My love for working with children and families has always been unwavering. As a single parent with a grown daughter with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), I have fought for educational services and encouraged her to accept her uniqueness by focusing on her special gifts and talents. I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with first responders for the past 15 years and understand the need for healing. As I come full circle in my career, I believe relationship therapy is my true calling. My specialty training is in systemic addictions, focus on treating the fundamental problem(s) and not simply the symptom(s). I have a direct, empathetic, and supportive nature. Other focuses are parenting on the spectrum, emotional support during infertility treatments, eating disorders, twelve-step programs, substance abuse disorders, family addictions, relationship difficulties, and trauma.
