My name is Melissa Zofkie and I am a graduate intern. I am currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. I have earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Therapeutic Recreation from the University of St. Francis.
My approach to counseling is from a person-centered point of view. Through a positive and non-judgmental perspective, I hope to build a positive relationship with individuals that are seeking counseling. As a clinician my goal is to empower and motivate clients to reach their objectives and goals. We will work together as a team to explore experiences and gain understanding to promote a healthier lifestyle.
I have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, attention difficulties, depression, expressive language, anger management, relationship building, self-esteem, and grief and loss. I am available for in-person and on-line sessions. I look forward to working with you.
