Elena Ibara, Counseling Intern
Counseling is an opportunity for self-discovery. When processing thought, feeling, and emotion, a person can come to a greater awareness of who they are at the core and who they are in relation to all that is happening around them. Counseling is an invitation for people to unpack their life, their childhood, or the dreams they envision. When we can draw meaning from the things that happen in life, we can become empowered to live a healthy and whole life.
My name is Elena Ibarra and I am a graduate-intern from Loyola University Chicago. I am in pursuit of my counseling degree through the Institute of Pastoral Studies, while under the supervision of Dr. Tracy Kim Snow. I am a bilingual clinician, and I am comfortable conducting therapeutic sessions in Spanish or English. The journey of every individual is unique, faith can be an integral part of a client’s life and if the client so chooses to discuss life through a faith perspective, it is welcomed in the therapeutic process.
